Multiple users on r/ClaudeAI reported a noticeable overnight improvement in Opus 5 performance, describing longer, more detailed responses and substantially greater reasoning effort compared to earlier that same day. The change was observed across different task types including code generation and analysis tasks. Anthropic has not announced any model update.
