Smartphone LED and AI Detect Hidden Cameras, South Korean Study Finds

Researchers in South Korea developed a system that uses a smartphone's LED flash and an AI model to detect hidden cameras in hotel rooms, rental accommodations, and other spaces. The technique exploits the retroreflective signature of camera lenses under directed light, analyzed by a trained neural network. The system demonstrated high detection accuracy in tests and requires only a standard smartphone with no additional hardware.
